At both communities the residents have organized resident associations. These groups provide the residents with an opportunity to gather periodically throughout the year to discuss issues and ideas about their living environment. Topics discussed at each include facilities management, programming and activities, to budget issue and how to enhance their quality of life.
Each month the administrators meet in an open forum to hear from the residents directly. Structured as an open town-meeting format, the administrators welcome the opportunity to discuss issues like occupancy, facility management and what is happening on the APD Campus.
Because the administrators have a resident-centered philosophy, they enjoy welcome feedback, whether formal or informal.
