Our Philosophy

Our philosophy like many communities is a resident-centered one. The manifestation of this is enhanced by being a smaller retirement community where , when we ask “how are you today…and mean it.”

Another way we are always listening and learning about aging, and services, is our association with our regional and national association-Leading Age.  Through collaboration other members we are always working on identifying.

There are over 5,000 members in this organization which is comprised of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and Life Plan Communities (formally known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities-CCRC). At the associations meeting in 2014 (in Nashville) the following song was commissioned and produced for our industry. Since its release, several communities have adapted it for their communities. We at Lifecare intend to do the same. In the interim we hope you enjoy the melody and the lyrics.

The Way I Get Paid by Lionel Cartwright

The Way I Get Paid Lyrics

I watch a college graduate
Walk across a stage
Accepting a diploma
At 80 years of age
And I say that’s the way
That I get paid
I help a great grandmother
Share the wisdom she has earned
With young expectant mothers
Who hang on every word
You see, that’s the way
That I get paid
I have come to respect
And to revere
These souls so full of life
So full of years
We are standing on the shoulders
Of a generation older and wiser and
Very much alive, how foolish to ignore
These souls who’ve come before
Just when we need them in our lives
Now’s the time …I want to help them thrive!
You ought to see my good friend Leo
Co-piloting a plane
Meredith’s sunflowers
Or Jesse’s model trains
Or listen to Elizabeth
As she lovingly explains
All the trials she overcame
That’s the way I get paid
I have come to respect
And to revere
These souls so full of life
So full of years
